Like many people, I have navigated my own personal struggles, including anxiety (both general and social), depression, and challenges with self-esteem. These experiences included periods of feeling deeply stuck, overwhelmed, and uncertain. Through developing a greater understanding of what I was experiencing, I learned to build effective coping strategies grounded in mindfulness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. Over time, this allowed me to regain a sense of balance and inner stability. Learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions was empowering and helped me move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Life transitions and relationship struggles can feel overwhelming, and my own professional journey included periods of exploration and change before I found my path in mental health care. After completing my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the State University of New York at Potsdam, I took time away from academia to explore opportunities in both the service industry and the legal field. While these experiences were valuable, I felt a strong pull toward more meaningful and purposeful work. This led me to pursue graduate training and follow my passion for mental health care. I went on to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University.
During my graduate training, I worked extensively with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of concerns. Through this work, I developed a strong interest in couples therapy—particularly in supporting partners experiencing communication breakdowns, emotional disconnection, recurring conflict, trust concerns, and difficulty repairing after hurt. These clinical experiences helped shape both my identity as a therapist and the relational approach I bring to my work today.
I take an integrative, client-centred, and relational approach to therapy. My work with couples focuses on helping partners better understand patterns of interaction, strengthen emotional safety, improve communication, and rebuild connection. I also support individuals navigating concerns such as anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, and self-esteem. I integrate approaches including Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy.

After graduating university, I was working within a school system where I was continuously surrounded by groups of individuals with differing emotions, behaviours, and reactions. It was within this job that I truly started to grasp the importance of recognizing how lived experiences can be reflected in individual needs, strengths, goals, and identities. It was with this understanding in mind that I realized I wanted a career in which I could foster an environment that allowed for the exploration of these aspects. As such, I decided to further my education and received my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) through Yorkville University.
It was through this program and my subsequent work after that I became dedicated to offering a non-judgemental, empathetic, supportive, and safe environment where we are able to work together on the path towards personal development. However, I understand that it can be scary and intimidating to reach out and ask for support. This first step can often be the most difficult and I recognize the strength it takes to unravel and bring attention to these concerns. I am committed to actively listening, collaborating on goals, gaining a better understanding of the creation and maintenance of patterns, and helping with the gaining of and increasing of coping skills. In sessions, I tend to take a client centered approach but offer components of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and somatic therapy. I am passionate about working with individuals experiencing any type of conflict, stressors, anxiety, or challenges, and I look forward to working alongside you.

I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to live in many communities across Canada. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on the importance of adopting a balanced mindset. We all face trials in our careers, relationships and personal well-being. Together, we can work towards healing, awareness and clarity. After completing my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Western University, my passion to pursue a career in counselling intensified. My journey into the mental health field began at Yorkville University through the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program.
Working as a counsellor is extremely rewarding. With the increase in mental health challenges, heightened by the advent of the pandemic, a compassionate and person-centred approach is key. We will collaborate to explore feelings and offer reflection. I provide in-person and virtual counselling for youth, adolescents, adults, couples and families. We will navigate through experiences of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-acceptance, relationships, and life transitions to maintain a balanced mindset. I primarily work from a Person-Centred Approach (PCT) with integrated components of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy (SBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I believe an integrative approach, which best suits your needs, is crucial for healing.
